Glass restoration specialist working on marine vessel glass in Wellington marina environment

About Glass Genius (Nick Evans)

I first started cleaning windows in 2000, working for a commercial cleaning company in Wellington. I worked alongside experienced window cleaners, learning from the masters and cleaning thousands of windows every week — quickly becoming highly proficient.

In 2004, I started my own business, ‘Reflection Window Cleaning’ . As a perfectionist, I always aimed for flawless results — but I began to notice something. Some glass simply couldn’t be brought back to perfect condition. Staining, scratches, and damage meant a perfect finish wasn’t always possible.

That didn’t sit right with me.

I wanted to understand glass at a deeper level, so I stepped into the glazing industry. Over the next three years, I gained hands-on experience and developed a strong technical understanding of glass — how it behaves, how it fails, important things like how it sits in the actual frame.

That’s where everything changed.

In my spare time I discovered and taught myself, not only how to remove stains and scratches from glass, but also how to protect it using advanced nano coating technology — preventing damage before it even starts.

Glass Genius was built from that foundation — combining glass restoration, glass protection, glazing skills, and decades of experience caring for glass into one complete service.

Today, I specialize in restoring and protecting glass surfaces across Wellington, working with homeowners, builders, and glazing professionals to achieve results that would otherwise require replacement.

And if I’m honest — I don’t believe there’s many people who loves and cares about glass as much as I do.

But if you ever meet someone who does… introduce me. We’ll probably get along very well.
